Oblivion Remastered brings a fresh take on leveling and enemy scaling. Many players want to know how level scaling work in Oblivion Remastered, since the old system often made the game feel unfair. This guide explains the new system in simple steps and helps you understand what to expect as you play.

Level scaling means the game changes the strength of enemies and items based on your character’s level. In the original Oblivion, enemies always matched your level exactly. This made the game feel the same no matter where you went. Now, in Oblivion Remastered, the game uses a new system.

Your Character’s Level

You pick seven major skills at the start. Using any skill gives you experience, but major skills give more. When you fill your XP bar, you level up and get 12 points, called Virtue Points.

You can spend these on your main stats, like Strength or Agility. You can only add points to three stats per level-up.

Both major and minor skills help you level up, but major skills are faster. You do not need to grind skills you do not like, which was a problem in the old game.

Enemy Scaling and Area Difficulty

The biggest thing to know is how enemies scale. In the old game, every enemy matched your level, which could make even a weak enemy feel like a slog.

In Oblivion Remastered, this system is mostly the same. Enemies and loot still scale to your current level, no matter where you go. So if you enter an area at level 12, the enemies will be close to your level, and if you come back later at level 18, they’ll have gotten tougher too. There aren’t set level ranges or caps for each area in the base game-enemies always try to keep up with you.

This means you generally won’t find places that are way too hard or too easy. The game is always trying to keep things fair and challenging, wherever you decide to explore. If you want a more traditional RPG experience with fixed area difficulties, you’ll need to use mods, but that’s not part of the default game.

Loot and Rewards

Level scaling also changes the items you find. Loot in chests and from enemies will match the area’s level range, not always your level. This means you can find better gear in harder areas.

This system encourages you to explore and try new places. You can find rare and powerful items if you visit harder areas.

The answer to how does level scaling work in Oblivion Remastered is simple. Enemies and loot now match the area’s level range, not just your level.

Any source regarding the “Enemy Scaling and Area Difficulty” section ? I cannot find mentions of this new “area level cap ” system anywhere else
