When I first launched Odin: Valhalla Rising, I was blown away by its visuals. It is based on old Viking stories. You can play it on your phone or computer. I played this game for many hours and want to share what I liked and what I did not. I hope this review helps you decide if you want to try it too.

Classes: Trying Out Different Characters

The first choice you make in Odin: Valhalla Rising is picking your class. You can choose from four main classes: Warrior, Sorceress, Rogue, and Priest. Each class has two special paths you can take later, which gives you even more ways to play.

  • Warriors are great if you like being in the middle of the action, taking hits, and protecting your team.
  • Sorceresses use powerful spells from a distance and can deal a lot of damage if you time your skills right.
  • Rogues are quick and sneaky, perfect for players who want to move fast and strike hard.
  • Priests are the best choice for players who want to heal and boost their team’s power.

I tried out the Warrior first, but I quickly switched to Sorceress because I liked casting flashy spells from far away.

Gameplay and Combat

Combat is where Odin shines. Smashing enemies with powerful attacks feels satisfying, especially in big group battles. The controls are simple enough for beginners but still for experienced players. Boss fights require teamwork, which makes dungeons exciting.

But the quests… oh man, the quests. Most are just “kill 10 wolves” or “collect 5 herbs.” They get repetitive fast. The auto-play helps with grinding, but it makes the game feel like it’s playing itself sometimes.

PvP can be intense, with huge guild wars and territory battles. But here’s the catch – players who spend real money get way stronger. If you’re not paying, you’ll struggle to compete. That really kills it for me.

The Story (Or Lack Of It)

The game is set in Norse mythology, which is cool. You meet gods like Odin and Thor, fight giants, and explore legendary places. But the actual story is pretty thin. Most of the time you’re just running errands for NPCs without any real impact on the world.

The cutscenes look nice, and the voice acting is decent. But I never really cared about what was happening. If you’re looking for deep storytelling, you won’t find it here.

Graphics and Sounds Amazing

Graphically, this is one of the best mobile MMOs I’ve seen. The armor designs are detailed, the environments are beautiful, and the spell effects look fantastic. Even on my phone, everything ran smoothly on high settings.

The sound design is great too. Weapons clang, spells whoosh, and Viking chants play in the background. It all helps pull you into the world. The music isn’t memorable, but it fits the mood.

Will Your Device Run It?

Mobile Requirements

Android:

  • OS: Android 11.0 or higher
  • Device: Samsung Galaxy S21 or equivalent (minimum)
  • RAM: 6GB+ (recommended)

My two-year-old flagship (Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra) handled it fine, but older devices might struggle.

iOS:

  • Device: iPhone 11 or newer
  • OS: iOS 15.0 or later

PC Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-9600K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
  • Storage: 50GB available space (NTFS format recommended)

Final Verdict

Odin: Valhalla Rising is a mixed bag. The combat is good, the world looks incredible, and the Viking theme is cool. But the repetitive quests, lack of character customization, and heavy pay-to-win elements hold it back.

If you love MMOs and don’t mind some grinding, you might enjoy it for a while. But if you want fair PvP or a great story, you’ll probably be disappointed. It’s worth trying; just don’t expect it to be your next favorite game.
