If they run, chase them down. Use your car to block them or tackle them if needed. Stay alert, since some suspects might fight or try to escape.
Restrain the Suspect
If the suspect has already surrendered, simply approach and use the ‘Restrain’ prompt.
If the suspect is resisting or trying to escape, you must first deplete their blue Resistance Meter. Do this by repeatedly using the Voice Order button (Square on PS5, X on Xbox Series X), or, for more determined suspects, by tackling and physically restraining them.
How to Arrest People in The Precinct
Read Their Rights: While restraining the suspect, follow the ‘Read Rights’ prompt. This quicktime event is needed for a proper arrest. If you skip it, you can lose points or let the suspect go.
Check ID and Search: After restraining, check the suspect’s ID for warrants. Search them for illegal items like drugs or weapons. Sometimes you find nothing and give a warning. Other times, you find enough to arrest them. Always check carefully to avoid missing anything.
Resolve and Arrest: Go to the ‘Resolve’ menu and add all crimes the suspect committed. Correct choices earn you XP, while mistakes can cost you XP. After confirming, select the ‘Arrest Suspect’ prompt to finish.
Escort or Call for Backup: Once arrested, choose how to transport the suspect. Escort them yourself, or call an Escort Unit to pick them up. When the suspect reaches the station, your arrest is complete and you earn experience points.
